Level 1: Foundation
Level 1 focuses on everyday skills that make life with your dog easier and more relaxed.
Common goals include:
- Potty training
- Crate training
- Leash manners
- Coming when called
- Chewing and destructive behavior
- Jumping up
- Overcoming fears
- Reactivity and barking
Level 2: Basic Obedience
Level 2 builds on foundation skills and prepares dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.
Skills covered:
- Heel
- Sit
- Stay
- Down
- Come
- Stand
- Sit politely for petting
- Routine grooming and exam handling
Level 3: Advanced Obedience
Level 3 takes obedience further and works toward AKC Novice obedience.
Focus areas:
- Loose leash and off leash heeling
- Stand for exam
- Long distance recall and finish to heel
- Extended sit and down stays with more distance and distraction
